Mogadishu, Somalia (Xaldoon Media) – Two young men previously imprisoned on the island of Seychelles on piracy charges and later transferred to the Somali capital, Mogadishu to finish the remainder of their sentence have now been intergrated into the custodial corps of Somalia.
General Dahir, the senior director of the central prison of Mogadishu alongside both of the convicts met with H.E. Hassan Moalim Mohamud, the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs for the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
Both men showed great workmanship and integrity during their time in the central prison, said General Dahir. The General also recommended that both inmates be employed by the central prison due their skill sets, knowledge and steadfast efforts.
H.E. Hassan Moalim Mohamud commended both men for the great work and duties they carried out while at the central prison and promised to take their situation up with the relevant bodies.
The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs has put a strong emphasis on reforming prisoners into functioning members of society to the benefit of the state, public and wider community.
